PS – I’m not quite so rosy about machine learning and artificial intelligence as this might suggest. My desire would be to find a job where I could set boundaries on machines and AI rather than encouraging them to develop unfettered. I don’t aspire to a time where ‘machines can feel’ (in fact that is a very scary concept) – although I think that’s imminently possible. We need – quickly – to find what it means to be human and ‘of this earth’ and make sure we don’t lose that in the coming decades.
